Privacy Policy
Firehouse Meals helps crews plan, cook, and split the cost of shared meals at the station. This policy explains what information the app collects, why it is collected, and the choices you have over it. Plain language first; the legal specifics follow.
01 Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the kitchen features of the app. The categories below describe the information involved.
Information you provide
- Account details — your name or call sign, email address, and station or crew assignment when you create an account.
- Meal content — recipes, shopping lists, menus, dietary notes, and meal schedules you add.
- Cost-splitting records — the amounts, contributions, and settlements you log for shared meals. We do not process card payments or store full bank details.
- Support messages — anything you send us when you ask for help.
Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data — app version, device type, operating system, and basic interaction events used to diagnose problems and improve features.
- Log data — IP address and timestamps recorded when the app connects to our servers.
Firehouse Meals does not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone data unless you explicitly grant a permission for a specific feature.
02 How we use it
We use the information above to:
- Provide core features — meal plans, shared shopping lists, and cost splitting.
- Sync your crew's data across the devices that belong to your station.
- Keep accounts secure and prevent abuse.
- Respond to support requests.
- Understand which features are used so we can fix and improve them.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your meal or crew data for advertising.
04 Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal or accounting obligations. Shared crew content you created may remain visible to your crew unless they remove it.
05 Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your account and associated personal data.
- Export a copy of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these, email firehousemeals911@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
06 Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and regular reviews of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep the risk low and will notify affected users if a breach occurs as required by law.
07 Children's privacy
Firehouse Meals is built for working crews and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
08 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
